The hybrid ceramic turbine bearing set contains the front and rear bearings for high-speed micro jet engines. It is one of the most important parts to replace during service and overhaul.
When should a turbine bearing set be replaced?
Bearings should be replaced at intervals based on engine run time. Shaft play, a run-down time that gets longer or shorter, unusual noise or vibration all show that a new turbine bearing set is due.
- Front and rear bearing together
- Hybrid ceramic balls: low friction and heat at high RPM
- For service and overhaul of micro jet engines
- Dimensionally inspected parts
Installation and service
Bearing replacement is delicate work; incorrect fitting can damage a bearing on the first run. Fit the turbine bearing set yourself or send your engine to us for RC jet engine service. After replacement we test the engine and return it with a report.
Turbine bearing set FAQ
What is different about hybrid ceramic bearings? The balls are ceramic and the races are steel. Ceramic balls are lighter and harder, so they run cooler at high RPM and last longer.
Are front and rear bearings the same? On most engines the sizes differ. The turbine bearing set includes both bearings your engine needs.
What else should be checked after a bearing change? The shaft, the balance of the compressor and turbine wheels and the lubrication line should be checked. These checks are part of our service.
How long do they last? Life depends on engine use, the fuel-oil mix and maintenance. We recommend replacement at the run time suggested by the manufacturer.
