A turbine glow plug provides the first ignition in the combustion chamber of kerosene-start micro jet engines. It wears over time and is worth keeping as a spare.
When should a turbine glow plug be replaced?
If the engine ignites late, needs several attempts to start or the ECU reports a glow fault, the plug filament may be weak. Replacing the turbine glow plug often solves the start-up problem.
- For kerosene-start micro jet engines
- Fast shipping from stock as a spare part
- Technical support for service and maintenance
Fitting tips
Clean the threads before fitting and do not over-tighten. After replacement, make the first start in a controlled way through the ECU. If start-up problems continue, the fuel and electronics side should also be checked; our jet engine service can help.
Turbine glow plug FAQ
What voltage does it use? The glow plug is powered at low voltage by the ECU. Tell us your engine model so we can match the plug to the ECU setting.
How do I know the plug has failed? If the filament does not glow when the removed plug is powered at low voltage, or the ECU reports a resistance fault, it should be replaced.
Should I keep a spare? Yes. A turbine glow plug is a small but critical part; keep a spare in your field box to avoid a lost flying day.
Is it used on gas-start engines? This plug is for kerosene-start engines. Gas-start engines use a different ignition element.
